The time has come for the big logo reveal!!!
The hubby says I should share with you all about the logo, what it means, how it happened, yada yada, so here goes…
I read tons, and I do mean TONS, of information from anywhere and everywhere I could on how to create a logo. I talked with entrepreneur friends, and marketing friends, and graphic designer friends. I then followed as much of their advice as I could. I tried a bunch of different things, bought design elements and fonts and put stuff together all sorts of different ways, came up with a font and color pallet.
After weeks of attempting to design my logo I was frustrated and discouraged. So I gave up! Then, I was writing in my journal and suddenly found myself doodling gems, and I had found my inspiration.
I wanted a logo that looked like a piece of jewelry itself, something that was beautiful in it’s own right.
What can I say, I’m a sucker for beautiful things!
No seriously, I kind of hoard them, it’s a real problem. I collect business cards, and invitational post cards for businesses and things I have no intention of ever using. I tear pretty pictures out of magazines and paste them in a journal, I have even been known to keep the sales tag off of a shirt because it was just too beautiful to toss.
I wanted to create a logo that would make an impression, make an impact. I want people to remember it, because isn’t that the point of a logo, but also I wanted them to remember it because it made them feel something. I’m not sure about you, but it definitely makes me feel something.
So, that’s the abbreviated story behind the birth of Frippery House’s logo. It took a lot of time but mostly it was a lot of fun to make, and I know I’m bias, but I love it!
Thanks for joining me on the journey
Katie
